This is a list of the URLs kept by Karl Loren when the separation from Vibrant Life occurred in 2012 and those added later than that separation by Karl Loren.

The original batch is here. I have expanded the data about each of the nine domains to guide action needed to bring each domain into the proper final position of "being registered and hosted by Net Nation and located in the Net Nation Account named troesc1575."

1 academyanabiology.com

This was the first anabiology domain purchased, most probably when I used Verio for registrations and hosting services. I access my still-existing active account at Verio, called the "Verio Backroom." The link on my long-time restricted domain and page goes to here at Verio with access credentials still the same as have been used for many years: ID appears for me automatically from cookie on my PC, but is 02614125 and password is " austra " used by me on March 6, 2012 to verify access. The back room has a very large amount of data about many of my domains and their status

I copied and pasted an example the back room page in July 2005 at this link on my personal restricted site. You can get into my site / page with my usual credentials of ID: kloren123 PW aus34tra which were valid on March 6, 2012.

Today I copied about Verio as shown just below from my earliest, most stable secure page with link just shown above, ID: kloren123 PW: aus34tra about the link to Verio:

02614125 as shown above and austra as shown to the right, same as for many years.

Also, Domain registrations are "locked" so cannot be transferred without unlocking them -- done by KL to protect domains

Extended Registration on some URLs

There are about 30 domains registered here, even though the hosting of any active webs are with NN. This is the holding place for many names not yet published. They will be automatically renewed. Some of our vital domains appear to still be held at Verio, but this seems safe enough.

After many years of having only one domain with the word "anabiology" in it, I decided to get as many of the other related names as I could. I believe all the six similar anabiology domains are now listed below making 7 domains with the word anabiology, and two more to make a total of nine in this project.

Now:

Situation:

I started our hosting service with Net Nation after problems with my first "hosting company" Verio. They may not have had their own equipment for hosting, I don't know.

So I bought many new domains from Verio, not realizing that Verio was acting as an authorized reseller for Melbourne.

Many of those domains had their hosting service transferred to Net Nation from Verio, some registered names with Verio have never been published (one time I bought all the TWTH    precepts names, but published only a few of them).  Cliff is deciding which of the Verio domains, if any, he wants to keep.  I think he has decided he should learn how to do this kind of stuff.

Cliff and I have agreed on which domains I will keep and which he will be taking with the buyout of Vibrant Life.

My whole new future is tied to my use of the word "anabiology." I have a trademark on that name and have bought  several domains with the word "anabiology" as part of the name.  ie.:  www.anabiologyscience.com etc.

Net nation does not yet have me set up as a customer separate from my old ownership of all VL domains.  They know Cliff is taking over but apparently Cliff and they want to have some formal time of official takeover.

Cliff managed to get for me, from NN, an account name:  troesc1575 which does not yet pay any hosting fee, but has been charged for some registration renewals.
End Product For Oleg if he is willing

What I would like you to do:
revisions since first description in red
  1. Get from me the names of all the domains [above] I want to keep in troesc1575
  2. Handle WhoIs queries like that below [in the original eMail to Carlos about this project], and Verio or melbourne changes to get these domains transferred to NN into troesc1575
  3. The single most important domain is www.academyanabiology.com  It was the first and, I suspect was purchased from Melbourne, perhaps through Verio.  It is important to me in part because I started publishing that site many years ago and those early publishing dates support my Trademark application for first use.
    1. I have paid for its renewals by paying money to Melbourne, perhaps to Verio
    2. My most important domain is in limbo as far as where it is even though it is published on Net Nation
    3. This will be the most important domain to get safely transferred to NN, troesc1575
  4. I will want my own separate Plesk service for troesc1575 (I'm still using the "joint" service with Cliff
  5. Advise me on what type of hosting service I should have from Net Nation
[I suspect it was Gordon Bateson who set up my first (unusual- using "vhosts" as a folder) path from root to site on the server. At the end of his work for me, he told me he had "invented" a PHP include command that would go across all domains on our server, not just one site. I think there are elements of that still in use, but not understood. I have some clues.][See below**]

  6. Get troesc1575 established with all of its domains published (I was going to ask Sunil in India to help on some of this, but I have some doubts on his help now.)
[He is willing to work for US$5 per hour. Things are tough in India.]
  7. All my domains should also have a separate Google Analytics Account and proper codes installed on all pages.  I have done this in the past, Sunil has done some for me, if you can also do this, I would rather include that in this task.
  8. All "our" (Cliff's and mine) domains are now in one Google Analytics account  I want to learn how to use Ad Words and new Google tools.  I had hoped India would do this for me.  If you can get involved on those tasks, that would be of interest to me
  9. I will give you a list of domains and access credentials you may need.
  10. I'm quite willing to pay you for major hunks of work as this moves along.
  11. There is no hurry, but WhoIs demands for information, etc, seem to have their own time urgency.

Hosting Note

When I first started to have "hosting" done for me I was with Verio. I spent hundreds of hours trying to understand the different "hosting services" they offered. I don't recall how I choose what type of hosting.

However I choose I understood little about the choices.

I believe, but not sure, that Gordon Bateson joined me sometime while I was still on Verio. I doubt if he helped me because HE, TOO, was evolving and learning his skills.

In any event I had trouble with Verio on what is now called bulk eMail. That service from them did not work well and I resolved to leave Verio.

I don't think I had any advice on choosing Net Nation. I may have known more about the choices available then than I did with Verio, but I was still flying by the seat of my pants.

I do know that Gordon Bateson was then helping me design my "learning management system. During that time he set up both SQL and PHP learning pages for me, but it was clear that he understood both of these very well while I got only a glimmer of understanding of them.

Gordon was also, by then, my official "tech consultant" with Net Nation and did all the trivial and complex tasks needed for me to use Net Nation without ever understanding that part of web work.

In particular, Net Nation, in those early years did NOT offer PHP language on a domain unless someone specifically not only asked for it, but even had to do some "server work" to make the PHP work.

Net Nation eventually started offering PHP as a feature that only needed to be checked to select it for any domain.

I suspect that Gordon was far ahead of most of the Net Nation Technical staff.

I don't recall what problem Gordon thought existed that caused him to get permission to work on our server and alter the usual path that any domain would have to trace from the root to the various other terms used to describe one domain.

I suspect he felt that if ALL our domains (all on one server) all had some common folder in that path it would be easier for him to handle the server configuration.

I suspect that he wanted to place a "folder" "vhosts" (probably short for "vibrant Life Hosts) on every path for some reason.

I suspect that anyone now trying to take any of our domains to a different hosting company, that THEIR usual path might not include "vhosts" but could be added. (Otherwise all our Dreamweaver settings might not apply on a different hosting company).

From time to time after we discontinued using Gordon's services, Cliff or I have written to him for help. He has always responded graciously, but I don't think he is ready to do a big programming project for us.

It is within this context that I ask Oleg to "advise" me on "hosting services."

I am not asking Oleg for another "Bateson level" of skill or advice.

I only know that Oleg knows more about hosting services than I do and I don't know who else I can trust to give me honest advice even if it is "I don't know."

I have one confidential source of off-shore services that might involve Hong Kong or Singapore and may bring that data in.
