Videos are the rage now-a-days and Karl Loren intends to invest heavily in this as HIS business.

I got this unsolicited offer because the sender looked at one of my web sites:

I came across your information and wanted to make an introduction.  Our company can create a two minute video trailer that explains your product or service in terms your target can easily understand.  We can do this for a small fraction of the price of typical video production companies and we’ll post it on youtube, your blog, your website, etc. as needed.

For a brief explanation please click on this link:

Depending on HOW you came to this page, if you have not watched this YouTube Video, I urge you to do so now.

That video explains, slightly, a "business model" parts of which I might want to follow for myself.

That video includes a claim that You Tube is now the Number Two Search engine in the world.

YouTube surpasses Yahoo as world’s #2 search engine

Chicago (IL) - ComScore’s most U.S. search engine Rankings for August 2008 suggest that YouTube achieves a greater level of search traffic than Yahoo. If you were to consider YouTube’s integrated search a regular search engine, you would have to hand Google the top two spots for search engine traffic. In combination, Google has about four times the search traffic of Yahoo and more than ten times the search traffic of Microsoft’s MSN sites.

The report detailed a total of 11.7 billion core searches made by Americans, and saw Google extend its search market share by 1.1 points to 63%. The second spot went to Yahoo (19.6%), Microsoft came in third (8.3%). Ask.com and AOL were fourth and fifth respectively, both with less than 5% of the market share.

A bit further down in the report, there is a surprising piece of news, hidden in ComScore’s “Expanded Search Query Report.” Google attained the highest number of search queries in the month of August – 7.6 billion. But the second spot is now held by YouTube 2.6 billion. YouTube not only pushed Google beyond 10 billion searches for the first time, but also replaced Yahoo as the world’s second largest search service: Yahoo’s traffic dropped by 5% from July 2008 to 2.4 billion.

The entire search traffic of Microsoft sites is estimated by ComScore at 1.0 billion searches.

Other sites to rank on the expanded search list include Ebay (434 million searches), Craigslist (335 million), Facebook (186 million) and MySpace (585 million). Source

A line in the Google search results just above is in red. That red line, on the web is: "You +1'd this publicly."

That line means that Karl Loren, a member of the Social Media group called Google+ has visited that search result and recommends it.

About the +1 button

The +1 button lets you start great conversations. When you click +1 you're publicly recommending pages across the web. You can also use +1 to share with the right circles on Google+. +1’s can help improve Google Search too, since you can see which pages your social connections have +1'd right beneath search results and ads.

The +1 button can appear in a variety of places, both on Google and on sites across the web. For example, you might see a +1 button next to a Google search result, Google ad, or article you're reading on your favorite news site. Source

The news report above confirms the power of You Tube, but does more than that, the extra text from the source shows the major universe of "search engines."

It is now well accepted the "eyeballs captured" on a page is a significant measure of marketing success.

When an eyeball is captured on a page of text it gets some amount of attention, but when an eyeball is "captured" in watching a video, the attention is longer and much more productive of marketing success.

IF the video is also "compelling" the result can be magic.

I have a new web site called: http://www.karlvideo.com and I suggest you go there for samples of MY work when that site is operational.

While I, too, will be able to post a video on You Tube for a client, I expect to develop commercial videos for commercial storage on Vimeo in an album devoted ONLY to a videos done for ONE client.

You could have hundreds of videos in that album and send someone a video link that included not only the ONE that you want to feature, but a number of OTHER videos on your business. The viewer of that first video can watch the ONE you sent him to watch, but also then choose from any of many others he could watch on the same web site. He can also send his link to your video to hundreds of others.

You Tube sometimes gets TOO many visitors to allow fast viewing time.

While You Tube may be a huge search engine, Vimeo offers a video viewer many more options of viewing than does You Tube.

Another option with Vimeo is to provide you with the statistics of how many and where the viewers are for your video even if it has been forwarded by one viewer to another and is no longer part of You Tube. Of course it can be on You Tube also, or on your web or used in many other ways.
